Great Ideas From Great People!!!

Big Daddy Is Laying In The Backyard Getting Some Sun So I Decided To Take Over For A Quick Guest Blog.

While We Were Visiting The Sweet Auburn Market Yesterday I Was Speaking With Our Friend Maria Who Owns Cafe Campesino And We Were Showing Each Other Our Frequent Buyer Punch Cards And I Had To Share This With Everyone.  When Comparing Our Cards I Mentioned How I Needed To Come Up With A Punch Or Stamp For Big Daddy And Before I Knew It She Showed Me What She Had Created.  Maria Made This All Out Of Recycled Items In Her Home. From the Eraser...And It Is A Coffee Bean...On Top Of That It Is Attached To Ornament.  I Sure Was Impressed!!  Make Sure You Go Down To See Her And Try Her Organic Fair Trade Coffee.
The Frugal Hostess Would Be So Proud Of Her.

Amazing Week We Just Had

Gosh I will Tell You I Am So Proud Of My Mom. For A While Now I Had Been A Little Jealous Of The Computer Because She Had Been Paying More Attention To It Then Of Me.  I Just Did Not Realize That She Had Been Working Really Hard To Try To Get Our Yummy Biscuits Out To The Public.  I Will Give You An Example.  Mom Has Been Twittering And When People Follow Our Story She Checks To See What Kind Of Business Or Person It Is.  That Is How We Have Meet Some Great People To Do Product Reveiws.  We Just Had One Published From Paws Nation Which We Did Not Realize Ran On AOL. Yes, You Saw Correctly..AOL Which Is America On Line.  So This Went Out All Around The Country.  WOW!!  So Last Tuesday Mom Had A Meeting With Our Friend Andrew, Who Has A Company Called Frogs To Dogs.  He Has A Cool Emergency Transportataion Service To Assist Getting Your Pet Care If They Are Injured And/Or Serverey Ill.  They Also Do Dog Training As Well As Pet Sitting.  Hence..Frogs To Dogs..  Ok..Back To The Story...Mom Checked Our E-Mail  And Orders Were Coming In Left And Right.  I Am Surprised That Our Computer Was Not Smoking.  Over 150 Came In As Well As People Interested In Wholesaling Them.  How Exciting Is That.  We Have Received Some Great Feedback As Well.  Here Is The Latest From Our Friend Jackie In Richmond VA.
"My Tibetan Spaniel is just plain picky. He prefers that I serve him homecooked meals, so I do. After reading about Big Daddy Biscuits, I decided to order a 1/4 lb. bag of the mixed biscuits to see if he would try any or all of them. He initially turned up his nose, but after I broke one in half for him and he tasted just a tiny bite, he then proceeded to devour one of each flavor just like that. He even went so far as to growl at me when I approached him when he was eating one. Of course, I put a stop to that foolishness right away. Within the hour, I had already gone online and ordered a larger supply so that when the first bag runs out,! I will have more in the cabinet. You did a good job when you came up with your recipes." Jackie Weaver, Richmond, VA

We Just Want To Thank Her So Much For The Kind Words And Supporting Big Daddy.  Mom Is Up And Going To Take Me For A Walk......Catch Up With You Pups Later!!

It's Raining It's Pouring.....

So I Will Fill You In On Our Weekend.....

At The Market Yesterday Mom Was Surprised That There Were So Many People (30) Waiting Until 8 am To Start Buying All The Wonderful Organic Veggies And Other Goodies That Were Available.  I Know Mom Had To Be Little Nervous Waiting To See If People Were Going To Check Out What We Had Being New With Our Biscuits And Then Realize It Was For No Reason.  We Were Welcomed With Open Arms.  People That Did Not Have Their Dogs With Them Samples and Then Broke Down And Bought A Smaller Bag.  Others Did Not Hesitate To Get Some.

Our Friend Megan Came By To Get Some Treats For The People Taking Pet First Aid & CPR That She Was Teaching With Our Friends At The Village Vets In Decatur.  She Told Me That Her Cat Even Enjoyed Them.  We Are Looking Forward To Watching This Grow.

My Paws Are Getting A Little Tired Now So I will Say Ciao Ciao For Now As My Mom Does And Talk To You All Soon.

Are Those Biscuits I Smell?

Something Smells Really Good Right Now.  You Can't Tell From My Face Could You????I Bet It is The Peanut Butter Biscuits That Mom Is Making.  I Heard Her Talking To Someone About Making Valentines Biscuits So That Pet Owners Could Give Them To There Dogs As Well As There Friends Dogs.  What Better Way To Show Some Love? Our Friend Keith Came Over On This Wonderful Day To Take Pictures.  I Love It When He Come Over Because He Always Talks To Me In A Funny Voice And Gives Me Biscuits When Mom Is Not Looking.  The Only Bad Thing Is That I Can't Be Near Him While He Is Working Becuase All I Want To Do Is Eat Them.  But Who Could Blame A Dog????
They Sure Turned Out Looking Good. I Hope That We Are Able To Make A Bunch Of Dogs Happy This Time Of Year Especially With The Ones Who Are Not As Lucky As I Am.  After Mom Finished All The Cleaning We Hopped Into The Car With Jars Of Biscuits.  We Met A Nice Lady Who Is Particiapating In A the Virginia Highland Silent Auction To Benefit Two Parks In The Neighborhood.  Mom Used To Live In This Neighborhood For Several Years And Is Thrilled To Help Out!!
That Is All For Now.  We Have Another Busy Day To Get Ready For.

What A Good Day Is Has Been

It Has Been A Week Or So Since I Have Been Able To Post A Note To Everyone But Mom And I Have Been Busy Since The New Year Started. The Weather as Been Very Strange In Atlanta And We Got Around A Half Of A Inch Of Snow. I know It Does Not Sound Like Much But Since The Weather Was So Cold (It Did Not Go Above 26) Everything Was Iced Up. My Mom Tried To Get Me To Play Outside But All I Wanted To Do Is Try To Catch Snow Flakes In My Mouth.

The Next Day I Just Wanted To Hang Out In The House Because I Was Slipping Just Going Out For A Few Minutes...But I Do Look Cute If I Say So Myself.  It is Hard To Believe That It Was A Week Ago That The Weather Was Like That Because When I Went Out Today For My WalkIt Was A Warm 56 Outside.  It Was Like Spring And Did Not Want To Come In.

We Had A Busy Day Today Baking Biscuits And Getting Them Out To The Post Office. One Biscuit Went   To Our Friend Michelle In Maryland.  She Has A Store Called Pet Instincts.  This Was Our Second Time Sending To Her And We Have Only Had GREAT Feedback From Her Customers.  Big Daddy Is Looking For A Long Lasting Relationship With Her.  We  Also Sent Biscuits To Our Friends At The Moore Farm And Friends.  Mom Just Loves What Will And Laurie Do To Help Local Farmers They Offer A Way A Way Of Getting Small Sustainable, Certified Naturally Grown And USDA Certified Organic Food Producers Products To The Public. We Are Honored And Thrilled To Be Part Of This Wonderful Project.

This Morning When I Woke Up I Over Heard My Mom On The Phone With Grammy (Her Mom).  At First I Thought That Something Was Wrong But The More I Heard The More I Understood.  Mom Has Been Working Really Hard To Get Our Products Our to The World.  Our Second Pet Review Came in From Our Friends Haute or Not.  What A Wonderful Review And Way To Wake Up!!

We Just Want To Thank Everyone For Their Support In Our First Year Of Business And Looking Forward To The Second!!!

A Big Week For Us!!!

Mom has been busy baking in the kitchen so I decided to take the time to write to let everyone know what is going on for us this week. I am so excited especially since I am going to be able to join her over this weekend.

The first thing is that mom entered me in the Rescued Pet Idol contest in the Atlanta Intown Newspaper. I am #49 so please vote for me. You can send an e-mail to: vote@intownatlantapaper.com and in the body of the e-mail put #49 and my name Big Daddy. Sure would appreciate your support. We are going to also be listed in this paper in September under Pet Briefs. A very exciting time don't you think?

We are also having an event at one of the stores that mom sells at. It is called At The Collective http://www.atthecollective.com/. We have 35 artist selling everything from shirts, jewelery, art work, plants for the garden/home and organic skin care products. On Friday, August 7th, we are one of the featured artist and going to be showing all the different various gift ideas that we have put together for everyone. It will be from 6pm until 9pm and will have a DJ along with snacks and wine. We are really looking forward to this. On Saturday mom will be at the Marietta Farmers Market and then back to the store At The Collective because we are celebrating the Dog Days of Summer. PAWS Atlanta http://www.pawsatlanta.com/ will be there along with other dog vendors to let us know about the services that they offer. Decatur Animal ER is going to be there and I am thrilled about that. They work with Decatur Village Vets http://www.thevillagevets.com/ and Frogs to Dogs http://www.frogstodogs.com/. By the way, did I mention if you go to Decatur Village Vets you can get my biscuits there. On Sunday, our friend Lisa Poole will be there with her Greyhounds rescue group. http://www.greyhoundadoption.org/ This should be a fun filled weekend!!! Animal Planet is going to be there as well so YAHHHHHOOOOO!!

I gotta go now because it is raining and need to get in my safe spot....under the dining room table!!!

I can't believe I have been gone so long!!

I sure have missed everyone. I know that is has been a spell since I have updated my blog but so much has been going on that I have not had time. It is a good thing but sure have missed sharing.

Where to begin??? Well, we are being featured in the store At The Collective in Inman Park on Aug. 7, 2009 along with our friend Mitzi. It is called the Dog Days of Summer. Then on Aug, 8th and 9th, we are going to have different dog vendors set up to promote their businesses. We are so excited about that.

We meet a new friend named Andrew who has a company called: Frogs to Dogs. They are way cool. Not only do they do pet sitting for all types of animals but they have a Emergency Pet Transportation. If something should ever happen to me I know that I would be in great hands. http://www.frogstodogs.com/. We are going to be giving Andrew sample treats so that he can give them to his clients. VERY EXCITING!!! We are really looking forward to working with them.

I was so surprised when mom told me that she had entered me in the Rescued Pet Idol contest that Intown Atlanta Newspaper is having. http://www.atlantaintownpaper.com/ Make sure you vote for me. This is very exciting. We might even be mention in the Pet Briefs under New Business if not it will be in the September issue. I promise to keep you all posted!!

This past weekend we participated in the event Paws for the Cause. It brought together several pet vendors to communicate the services offered. Micro chipping was $20, shots were $45, dogs for adoption and so much more. Man, did we see some cute pooches. The special surprise was that mom saw LaMetra who she went to Lakeside High School with. She brought her cuties who were very patient trying on dog sweaters. Chi Chi was so good.

Ciao for now and I promise that I won't gone this long again.

Almost forgot to let you know that I have put together some questions that I would like for you to answer. Just to help us serve you better!!! http://bit.ly/vUUp

Time To Make The Biscuits

It sure has been hard to get my mom to get off the computer in order to let you all know what has been going on with the two of us. The only issue is.....Where do I start? The Weather was so nice for a while we were going on our daily walks and I WAS LOVING IT!! But there sure was alot of pollen around. I have been scratching and itching but with all that rain we just got...the grass is greener and more flowers are blooming. Makes the walks that much nicer.

This past Saturday my mom went to the Glenwood Farmers Market. I love the fact that even if the weather is rainy or steamy hot people can always find us next to The Shed, http://www.theshedatglenwood.com/. It is large space that allows kids to be kids and your dogs roam with around with everyone else.
This Thursday, April 2, we are going to be at Young Blood Gallery
for the monthly Kraftwork. Come by between the hours of 7 - 10 p.m. to see us along with other local artist. http://www.youngbloodgallery.com/. But earlier in the day mom is going to be at the Cobb Galleria Market. It is by the Waverly Way Hotel from 11am. - 2p.m. I sure am going to miss mom for she is going to be gone almost all day and I can't even go with her. That is a BUMMER.

On Saturday April 4th, I will be able to hang out with mom. We are going to be at the Irwin Street Market from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. http://www.irwinstreetmarket.com/. I would love to hang out with you while you have your Jake's Ice Cream.
http://www.jakesicecream.com/.

OK my friend, one last thing...we just got our new bumper stickers in with "You Know You Want Some!" - Big Daddy. Can't wait until I see them while I am riding in the car...Two paws up on that!!

Time for bed....I will fill you in on how the week is going....I feel it is going to be a good one!!

Ciao Ciao for now...

You Ask Who Is Big Daddy?

My photo
Atlanta, GA, United States
Thanks for coming by and visitng my daily life. Since Big Mama works so hard hand pressing all of the biscuits I thought that I could keep everyone up to date on what is going on, share pictures and get your comments. If you see any typos I am sorry now for that but it is really hard to type when you don't have thumbs. Let me first tell you a little about myself. I am an American Bulldog and was found wondering around by the Federal Penitentiary in Atlanta Georgia. I was so little that my my head was bigger than my body. One look at me and my mom knew I needed lots of loving and care. I had been on the street so long without Proper nourishment I developed Toxoplasmosis and now have cataracts in both eyes and slowly going blind. She has nursed me back to health and today my body is strong and happy. My mom and I are now inseparable and have a large extended family who give me plenty of attention. But most of all I make my mom happy. "You Know You Want Some" - Big Daddy http://www.bigdaddybiscuits.com
